Batkid can be characterised as a rapidly developing event, but without contradictory reports. Yale is also a rapidly developing event, but one where confirmed facts were slow to emerge. Lax is a media heavy event spanning just over 7 hours while Tornado spans 9 hours and is an extremely rapidly developing story, comprised mostly of photos and video of damaged property. Iran and Robford differ in update frequency but are similar in that related stories are widely discussed before the evaluation period.
LAX Shooting
A shooting occurred at around 16:20 UTC in Terminal 3 of the Los Angeles International Airport. Paul Anthony Ciancia, aged 23, has been accused of opening fire with a rifle, killing a U.S. government Transportation Security Administration officer and injuring several other people.

Iran
The Geneva interim agreement on the Iranian nuclear program was a pact signed on 24 November 2013 between Iran and the P5+1 countries in Switzerland. It consists of a short-term freeze of portions of Iran's nuclear program in exchange for decreased economic sanctions on Iran. UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon hailed the interim agreement as the potential "beginnings of a historic agreement."

Police received a call from someone saying their roommate was on their way to the Ivy League school to shoot people. A lockdown was immediately issued as law enforcement from several agencies descended upon the university and began going room to room to search of the campus. The call was later revealed to be a hoax.

Newsweek outed Bitcoin creator Satoshi Nakamoto as a 64-year-old man from Temple City, Calif. who goes by Dorian S. Nakamoto. He denied having any involvement in the digital currency after reporters chased the man across Los Angeles.
